EigenLayer

Status

Ditto’s integration with EigenLayer is planned and will go live once EigenLayer opens AVS onboarding more broadly. At this stage, no addresses or live deployments exist — this section describes the intended design.

Overview

EigenLayer introduces Restaking, which allows ETH and Liquid Staking Token (LST) holders to “re-stake” their assets to secure new decentralized services, called Autonomous Verifiable Services (AVSs). This extends Ethereum’s security guarantees to protocols like Ditto without requiring us to bootstrap our own validator set.

Intended Role in Ditto

  • Operators: Ditto Runner Nodes will be able to register as EigenLayer Operators and opt in to support Ditto’s AVS.

  • Security: Restaked ETH/LSTs back Ditto’s automation engine, ensuring verifiable execution.

  • Incentives: Operators and Restakers earn rewards when workflows are executed correctly; misbehavior can be penalized via slashing.

Benefits

  • Shared Ethereum security — leverage existing staked ETH instead of running a separate staking economy.

  • Operator marketplace — easier onboarding of professional node operators.

  • Trust-minimized execution — consensus-powered guarantees for Ditto workflows.

Coming Next

When EigenLayer AVS onboarding is generally available, Ditto will:

  1. Register Ditto as an AVS in EigenLayer.

  2. Provide Operators with setup instructions to opt-in.

  3. Enable rewards + slashing logic through EigenLayer’s coordination contracts.
